Information for patients 22nd December 2024
We are writing to inform patients that Willow Tree Practice has been notified that the owners of Regent Street premises have sold the building subject to contract.
The tenancy agreement in place means that we expect to be given a very short notice period to prepare to vacate the premises, and whilst no dates have yet been confirmed, we are anticipating that the sale will go through around mid-January.
We have expressed our wish to stay at Regent Street for as long as we can but are making plans to transfer medical services to the High Street premises.
This means that patients currently accessing medical services at Regent Street will need to access the High Street premises, which will become the single Willow Tree Practice location.
We are working closely with NHS Gloucestershire to ensure that a full range of primary care services continue to be provided from our High Street premises and that patients will be able to access services in the same way as they do now. We are confident that we can accommodate all patient services within the High Street building.
As you will be aware, Regent Street is a dispensing practice. Unfortunately, dispensing rights cannot be automatically transferred to High Street and we will need to make a relocation application to the South West Pharmaceutical Services Regulations Committee. The application process is complex due to statutory regulations and is likely to take some time.
We are working through this process, and in the meantime, would like to reassure patients that they should not be concerned about their medication supplies.
We will write to all patients affected by the changes to dispensing in early January setting out clearly how they can continue to order and collect prescriptions.
We believe that moving all services to High Street will offer opportunities for members of the practice team to share, learn and develop their skills together, enabling patients to benefit from the support and experience of the combined team in one location.
We will keep patients up to date with progress through information in the surgery waiting room and regular updates on the surgery website.
Thank you for your support for Willow Tree Practice during these challenging times.
